The MERLIN Range

The Merlin MkII is Househam's next generation of self-propelled machine, joining the range in 2017. The MkII has been developed relying on direct customer feedback from MkI operators.

At Househam, the customer's input is very important and the engineering team works closely with customers to incorporate feedback into all products and systems.

Long hours in the field become less demanding and more of a pleasure thanks to the comfortable and superbly appointed Category 4, ROPS-approved Excalibur cab. Spacious and fully air-conditioned, the cab provides an ultra-quiet operating environment with panoramic visibility. Features include a high back Grammer air suspension seat, fold-away buddy seat, cool box, DAB radio and CD with Bluetooth and heated electric mirrors.

The MkII now features a single piece chassis with A-frame axles, front and rear. To supplement the next generation chassis, the 4000 litre spray tank has been re-designed around a brief of minimal pipe work and a sump to allow emptying on side slopes.

The Househam TMC V3 (Total Machine Control) integrates many functions into one simple to use touch screen console. Add this to the FieldMaster GPS system, which was also designed and developed in-house, and you have a truly effective and efficient machine for chemical or liquid fertiliser.

A class leading ride on road or in field is achieved with the use of air ride load sensing suspension system. Even weight distribution and a low centre of gravity ensures stability whatever the terrain and generous ground clearance means minimum crop damage.

The MkII is available with a range of advanced technologies designed to maximise application accuracy and your productivity. These include Auto Nozzle Select (ANS), ultra sonic Boom Height Control and the Spray Pilot hydraulically controlled hands-free steering system.

To keep in line with current legislation, the Merlin MkII is now powered by an MTU 41000 Tier-4 engine, providing 230hp.

Spray tank capacity can be specified in either 4000, 5000 or 6000 litre variants, either stainless steel or GRP. Boom sizes range from a 24 metre twin-fold to a 36 metre triple-fold, with variable geometry boom levelling available from factory.
