 We are actively looking for a Design Engineer

 Being the backbone of the Househam Sprayers group, our Advanced Engineering Division is responsible for the R&D, technology and engineering services function. We are looking to expand our Design Engineering department.

This role will involve collaboration on projects so teamwork is essential, however you should be capable of tackling individual tasks under your own initiative and managing your own projects. The ideal candidate will be an experienced multi-skilled Design Engineer, able to apply logic “think outside the box” and propose alternative solutions to new and existing projects.

The Role:

  • To ensure and provide adequate and timely Engineering support to all other departments within the company
  • To continue to develop and improve our product in line with the companies mission and vision by innovative suggestions and ideas
  • Work on making changes through the Engineering Change Request process
  • To implement new and/or improved systems defined by the Technical Engineering branch of the Engineering team
  • To implement new requirements defined by the Sales Team
  • Identify areas where build time could be reduced or product quality/functionality could be increased
  • Consider the method of manufacture with all new designs (including machine requirements, manufacturing processes, tooling and fixture requirements)
  • Improve and develop the design, manufacture and production processes
  • To drive teamwork, improved inter-department relations and a positive mind set to ensure excellent communication and understanding between all departments, assisting wherever possible
  • To ensure documentation is of suitable quality for all that could be using it, whether this be for Production building the machines or an operator using the machine

Desirable (but not essential) Experience/knowledge:

  • Proficient IT skills (MS office) & Experience using 3D CAD software is desirable.
  • Good communication skills both internally (other departments) and externally (with suppliers etc).
  • Ability to embrace a culture of continuous improvement and team spirit.
  • Electrical and control system design.
  • Hydraulic & Hydrostatic system design.
  • Experience within heavy duty/off highway vehicles/machinery.
