Purchasing Assistant required for full time office-based role with an immediate start.

As a member of the Househam Purchasing team, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Liaison with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of parts to cover immediate demands of business
  • Expediting future orders to maintain productivity
  • Ordering of items outside of MRP; including KANBAN. This will involve spending some time working within the warehouse department
  • Managing return orders to suppliers
  • Chasing of parts for aftersales
  • Other general duties within the Purchasing/Supply Chain functions

The ideal candidate will have previous purchasing experience, with the aptitude to solve problems effectively and efficiently, with a ‘can do’ attitude. They will also:

  • Be able to work well under pressure
  • Have a good range of IT skills with knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Be able to work as part of a team or under own initiative
  • Have an organised approach to work and good time management skills, with high attention to detail
  • Have good interpersonal skills and confidence speaking on the phone


Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of Microsoft Navision software is advantageous, but not essential
  • Experience of MRP is advantageous, but not essential
