Long-term support in turbulent times from British manufacturer

British spraying manufacturer, Househam, is launching a new customised product support package at Cereals 2019.

Designed to reassure customers that there will be long-term care in an uncertain agricultural climate, with continuity of parts and maintenance, the five-year product support package will result in increased productivity and reduced costs.

“We’re positive that we will have continuity of supply and services going forward, whatever the political outcome, and launching a personalised support package for our 100% British-manufactured sprayers will help farmers to get even better value and longevity from the machines,” says Robert Willey, Househam managing director.

“The initiative will give new customers access to expert advice from trained technicians, replacement of wear parts and competitive prices for original parts as well as routine maintenance guidance,” says Robert.

As well as launching the package, the Lincolnshire-based machinery supplier will be demonstrating its full range of UK-engineered and operator-inspired machines on stand 800 at the show, including working demonstrations in the sprayer’s arena.

Robert Willey, managing director of Househam, said: “Cereals is a highlight in our calendar every year, and it’s a must for any agricultural business. We’ll have our full range of self-propelled sprayers on display, demonstrating our industry leading technology in the arena so farmers can see first-hand the efficiency of our future-proofed machinery.”

Househam has introduced a number of advanced machines in the last two years, including the operator-inspired HARRIER, launched at Cereals 2018. The ‘next generation’ machine comes fitted with Househam’s trademark Total Machine Control (TMC) V3 and FieldMaster GPS advanced on-board operating system, delivering what its makers believe to be the most efficient and precise sprayer application in its class.

Featured at Cereals 2019 will be the popular SPIRIT which was updated last year to fill a significant gap in the market for high technology, low weight, entry-level self-propelled machines. The company is also showcasing some of its best-selling, highly versatile Air Ride models, which promise to boost on-farm productivity.

Also appearing at the show will be the PREDATOR, weighing 10,440 kg unladen, it’s the biggest machine in the Househam range. Launched in 2017, it’s lighter than other sprayers in its class while still using the latest large wheel and tyre technology to reduce ground pressure.

Househam’s latest innovations include level 4 filtration system in the cab, Individual Nozzle Control (INC), Auto Nozzle Select (ANS) and Househam’s Total Machine Control (TMC) V5 Controller with FieldMaster GPS mapping and guidance, available subject to model specifications.

Visitors going to Cereals 2019 can contact Househam in advance to meet the team at the show. For more details about Cereals 2019 or to buy tickets, visit cerealsevent.co.uk/.

Househam to bring AIR-RIDE and PREDATOR to National Sprayer Demo Day 2019

Househam is set to showcase its latest self-propelled sprayers at this year’s National Sprayer Demo Day.

The annual gathering of machinery operators heads to Churn Estate, Blewbury, on Wednesday 20th February.

Qualified operators will be given the chance to test out Househam’s best-selling AIR-RIDE and its 5,000-litre PREDATOR in real working conditions.

This year’s site includes an 18ha field, a flat 42ha field and over 60ha of cover crops to test sprayer performance and ability.

Robert Willey, managing director of Househam, said: “This is always a great day for us to get out in the field with our customers. It’s unrivalled as an event because it shows farmers the wide range of sprayers they can choose from. We’ll be there with the AIR-RIDE and the PREDATOR, two of the most reliable and technologically advanced British-built sprayers on the market. And there’s nothing better than a working demonstration to see what these machines can really do.”

BREXIT AND THE FUTURE OF LINCOLNSHIRE AGRICULTURE ON THE TABLE AT LINCS FARMING CONFERENCE

BREXIT and agriculture over the next 150 years will be key talking points at the next Lincolnshire Farming Conference, to be held on Tuesday 26 February 2019 at the Lincolnshire Showground.

As the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society celebrates its 150th year in 2019, the major theme of the upcoming conference will be ‘for the next 150 years’ – discussing, and debating, how far the industry has come and what’s next for the sector.

Robert Borrill, chairman of the Lincolnshire Farming Conference Committee, said: “We are thrilled to be celebrating 150 years of the Society in 2019. With Lincolnshire being one of the biggest agricultural counties it is great to be able to bring the local farming community together with leading international experts to discuss the future of the agricultural industry – both short-term with Brexit and long-term as we look to the next 150 years.

“Following positive feedback from last year’s conference we’re delighted to once again offer visitors morning workshop sessions with local businesses and the opportunity to explore our exhibition, alongside the line-up of topical talks throughout the afternoon.”

Navigating Brexit as farmers, turning global food trends into profitable opportunities and conservative agriculture are just some of the themes to be discussed. Industry experts include key note speaker Dr. David Hughes; Emeritus Professor of Food Marketing at Imperial College London and Visiting Professor at the Royal Agricultural University, UK.

NFU Chief EU Withdrawal and International Trade Adviser, Gail Soutar, will also be presenting at the conference. Part of a dedicated team within the NFU, responsible for ensuring that the opportunities arising from the UK’s future global trading position are realised and that the interests of British farming are protected, Gail will provide her expert insight on how farmers can navigate Brexit.

Sponsors of the Lincolnshire Farming Conference include Farmacy plc, Openfield, Anglian Water, Househam, Brown & Co, Wilkin Chapman LLP, Streets, OMEX, Riseholme College, Jelf, University of Lincoln and CLAAS.

Robert Borrill added: “As we are a registered charity, the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society are always thankful to our sponsors and the important work they do. Our aims are of course to support the local agricultural community and allied trades, but also to educate about food, farming and the countryside.

“The support from our sponsors allows us to work closely with individuals, schools, organisations and businesses who share our common vision to promote the agricultural industry and support activities that have a positive effect on both the environment and the community.”

The Lincolnshire Showground is well placed geographically attracting both attendees and exhibitors from throughout the Midlands, as well as further afield.

The exhibition is open from 11am to 5.30pm and refreshments will be available alongside networking opportunities. A reception for the Impact Group, the Society’s networking group for under 35s, will also take place after the conference ends at 5.15pm.

Tickets are available now and cost £15 for adults, £6 for students, with members of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society free to attend once registered, including lunch. To book a place at the 2019 conference, please visit www.lincolnshireshowground.co.uk.
